Arizona Medicaid Patients Denied Organ Transplants

Cutting funds that causes people to die is no way to solve budget problems.  That's what Arizona did when Governor Jan Brewer signed a measure that cut organ transplant funding for 98 Medicaid patients.  This unconsciouable display of cruelty cannot be allowed to stand.  It must be reversed or before we know it the same thing will be happening in every state and you or your loved ones could be affected.

 

Governor Brewer said the state didn't have enough money to fund the $1.4 million program but she found $2million to fund algae research and $1.7 million to fix the roof on a building.  She also has $30 million in discretionary federal stimulus funds, but while she says the money has already been allocated she doesn't and won't say where the money is going.
