I am 5 months ahead of you. I just started Hep C treatments first of February. This sucks. I am hoping the treatment won't kill me with the transplant! I wish the best for us all! Anna
I am well and will be going back to the Doctor to get on another type of antidepressant as the first one gave me hives. Next week I talk to another Doc to begin the Interferon treatments. ugh! I understand about only being able to do so much and…

I was told if you have a liver transplant on Medicare, it would pay 100%. And liver cancer will move you up on the transplant list if caught early! Go for it! And good luck.
OMG! I can't imagine having 2 liver transplants. This one has kicked my butt. 09-03-08. There doesn't seem to be much support out there. I think we just have to support each other.
How are you doing? I had my transplant 09-03-08. I am 58 and I feel like it too.
Why did you need a Liver Transplant? People don't seem to visit this site very often? I can't figure it out?
Anna, I live in Arizona and would love to talk to you. My email is srosser@cox.net

Hi Anna,
It's good to hear from you. I'm still basically in the same place. I just had a major death in my life so that has taken quite a tole on me. So while I am not feeling any better physically, at the same time, I am thankful I am not feeling any worse. I have decided to seek thereapy to help me deal with the nightmares that are reoccuring. They keep me from getting a quality nights sleep and I believe that is also a hugh factor in keeping me from being able to build more strength. How have you been feeling? I hope all is well with you.

I too am glad to have someone to talk to. I am not married but have a significant other. Mason is wonderful and we have been living together for 13 years. I have been married and divorced 2 times before . I guess the 3rd. ius the charm. I am originally from S.C. I moved here 16 years ago after a horrible divorce from my last ex husband. I will be 50 in Oct. I come from a very large family and they are all wonderful. I have 3 older brothers and 2 older sisters. One sister lives here in the valley and other brothers and sister all live in S.C. My mother is still alive and a 3 time beast cancer survivor. She is my hero. She is 83 and when I was really sick and very toxic she flew out here and took care of me We will get to all that later. I am a very blessed person for them all to put up with me Even when I had very toxic moments. My brothers and sisters all took turns flying out here to take care of me. Email me and hope we can become friends.

When I got diagnosed and told it was so bad I could not do the interferon treatment. . I thought I would be ready to go back to work by now but recovery is tough on me and now Hep c is coming back so now I will begin the interferon treatment. I had my transplant in March 09 after being in hospital and dialysis for a month and a half. My kidneys began to shut down when my liver stoped working. Hope you are doing well.

Anna,
I had been ill with various ailments for 6 years before my liver failed. I kept saying that I felt like I was being poisoned, which it turns out is exactly what was happening. My liver was poisoning me. During that time, no test ever indicated liver problems so it was never tested further. While the best guess they came up with was tylenol overdose, I rarely ever used it. So basically my liver was being destroyed due to my way of life. I had been taking nyquil and excedrin a week prior to my liver failure due to a cold I had developed.
They did not find Hep of any type nor chorissis(sp?) but it was 95% dead by the time they got it out. 10 months later I am doing much better than I have for years but still not where I had hoped to be. I am good for about 2 hours of physical exersion a day and that is about it. It is possible this is as good as it will get due to the years of damage my body endoured. But it is sure better than the alternative. I didn't find much info on you, only your responses to others. Please tell me what you find us to have in common as it is certainly hard to find others who understand what this is to deal with before, during and after the transplant.
