Avoid Prograf, it can slowly cause kidney failure. The effects are often very slow, subtle and can sneak up on you over a long period and this often confounds the specialists who are not aware that Prograf is the culprit in the slow decline of…

I am truly sorry for your loss~~~ I do take D and Tum's for calcium yearly Bone Density Scans.... As you know it took me a while to get Transplant to listen to me that something more than them saying I wasn't drinking enough fluid was the problem... Prograf was the problem. The only one I can thank is My God who whispered in Transplant Ears and said hey you ass holes she drinks plenty it is the toxic drug you have her on! Blessings Cathy

Hi Glad to meet you sorry to read about your Kidney's. I have noticed less and less people special Kidney Transplants are not on Prograf. The sad part of the whole ordeal was my coordinator kept telling to drink more fluids this went on sadly for 3 months. I went and saw a Kidney Doctor and sadly she knew nothing of anti rejection medication. Kept playing with my blood pressure medication and I then demanded to be seen by a Transplant Doctor and on January 9 2009 they started reversal of anti rejection drugs.
I am pissed I felt if I had no medical background where would I be today???
