Transplant Groups

Hello friends.

I am trying to help a very dear friend of mine and ostensibly yours.

John Piano is the founder of Transplant Connect and a simple click of your mouse http://thegentlemensfund.com/final_vote.asp will help him win The GQ Gentlemen's Fund 2009 contest and further a great cause for families like yours all over America.

So, I hope you will click your mouse on the link above and also take 30 seconds and read the email from John below and that his message will inspire you to possibly forward on to as many people as possible and help progress organ and eye transplants.

Thank you so much for taking the time to simply open and read this blog.

Francis

Hi Everyone,

Please forgive this mass email, but this is an important cause and it's worth breaking online etiquette this one time. I'm not asking for any money, only a click of the mouse will allow you to support an important cause that directly impacts millions of lives every year. I founded Transplant Connect in 2004 to create software that helps increase organs for transplant. Today, we enable 12,000 - 15,000 life-saving organ transplants every year.

In recognition of my work, I've been named one of 5 finalists in the GQ Better Man/Better World Search. http://thegentlemensfund.com/final_vote.asp. Voting takes one click and 5 seconds, costs nothing and requires no obligation. Voting continues until Wednesday, October 7 so please forward this to your friends/colleagues.

If I am named the GQ 2009 Better Man, I will have a powerful platform to communicate the message of organ, tissue and eye donation and transplantation. This cause typically goes vastly unknown due to lack of media coverage, and that's why this opportunity is so important.

100,000+ wait for an organ in the U.S. (18-20 die every day). 10 million worldwide people suffer from blindess that is curable by corneal transplantation. 1 in 3 people will be directly affected (themselves, a family member or close friend) in their lifetime by this problem.

Below are some examples of the support we've just obtained today:

1) A Rochester, NY station aired a news story about me today - click here to watch: http://rochesterhomepage.net/content/video/?cid=122932

2) The National Kidney Foundation gave their formal support, posted me on their Facebook page and also launched a 100,000-person email to their supporters

3) Upstate New York Transplant Services (Buffalo) posted me on their Facebook and also launched an 8,000-person email to their supporters

4) The 24-hour R News station in Rochester is interviewing me tonight via phone and will broadcast the story tomorrow

We've already jumped from 6% to 35% in the voting, and I think we can catch up if we combine the above with your efforts to get your friends and colleagues to go online and vote. It supports the badly-underpublicized cause of organ, tissue and eye donation and transplantation and it takes all of 5 seconds to vote. PLEASE VOTE!

Thank you for your support with this - it would be great to capture this honor so that I can have a strong platform from which to spread the word about a cause that impacts so many and goes far too underpublicized.

Thank you for your support.

John
